Hughes and the Canadiens Appear to Have Made a Mid-Summer Coaching Staff Firing
A few days ago, we reported on an interesting hiring made by Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.
That said, as reported by Maxime Truman today, this hiring came about due to a dismissal that was announced within the Canadiens organization in the middle of summer, and apparently, we're talking here about a murky and controversial firing.
Éric Gravel was fired by the Montreal Canadiens, in the middle of summer
"The guy who was let go a few weeks ago is named Éric Gravel.
He had been working for the Habs since February 2015.
He was very well liked by Martin St-Louis and the team's coaching staff.
As much for his competence as for his personality.
His dismissal is murky and from what I hear, there are several people internally who are unhappy about it.
The person in question himself believes he had no reason to be let go."

Gravel had been working for the Montreal Canadiens since February 2015, he was well liked by everyone, and now he's been dismissed and replaced in the middle of summer.
It's quite unusual, but well, it's difficult for me to comment too much without knowing the full story, which is indeed very murky.
