The stage is set for the Montreal Canadiens to kick off the 2025-26 season.

Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton have made their decisions, and now Martin St-Louis has followed suit.
He confirmed his forward lines and defensive pairings today in preparation for tomorrow's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs - and indeed, two players have been removed from the lineup.

Jayden Struble and Joe Veleno will be scratched from the Canadiens' lineup tomorrow and will watch from the press box

Unless there's a major last-minute change or an unexpected injury, that's exactly what we'll see in Toronto.
Here are Martin St-Louis's confirmed lines and pairings:
"Caufield-Suzuki-Slafkovsky
Bolduc-Dach-Gallagher
Newhook-Kapanen-Demidov
Laine-Evans-Anderson
Veleno

Dobson-Matheson
Hutson-Guhle
Carrier-Xhekaj
Struble

Montembeault
Dobes"
So yes, Joe Veleno and Jayden Struble will serve as the extras.
It's also been officially confirmed by the Montreal Canadiens through a press release.
"Jayden Struble and Joe Veleno completed the group.

The team opens its regular season against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday night at Scotiabank Arena."

Also worth noting - Samuel Montembeault will get the start in goal tomorrow night.
More details to come.
