Insider Reveals the Offer Amount Lane Hutson Would Reportedly Accept From the Canadiens

The well-known journalist Darren Dreger has just revealed some very interesting information regarding Lane Hutson and the Montreal Canadiens.
We know that negotiations for his highly anticipated contract extension have been dragging on, and we also know that Kent Hughes is really standing his ground.
That said, what kind of offer would Lane Hutson (and his agent) actually accept to finally settle this matter?
Darren Dreger may have just revealed the exact number.

The TSN insider clearly stated that an eight-year contract worth $10 million per season would be accepted by Hutson's camp.
Clearly, Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens don't want to go that high.
Darren Dreger: Regarding Lane Hutson's extension:
"That number is going to be higher than $9.5M, I can assure you of that; does 8x $10M get it done? Yeah, probably.

So the Hutson camp is reportedly asking for 10 million per year!
Based on this information, unless there's a major twist, we shouldn't expect Lane Hutson's next contract to exceed the $10 million per year mark - which is great news, especially considering the massive upcoming increase in the NHL's salary cap.
Last season, the 21-year-old defenseman recorded 66 points in 82 regular-season games, along with 5 points in 5 NHL playoff games.
Unless he signs an extension before then, Hutson will become a restricted free agent (RFA) next July.
