A 23-year-old Quebec defenseman has indeed just been released from within the Montreal Canadiens organization.

Likely linked to the announced return of David Reinbacher, who will suit up today for Pascal Vincent's squad, the Laval Rocket has just announced a roster move.

We'll have to wait and see what's next for the young defenseman

A Defenseman Has Just Been Released From the Montreal Canadiens Organization: Jacob Dion Becomes a Free Agent

Jacob Dion, 23, is a left-handed defenseman standing 5-foot-9 and weighing 177 pounds. In his final QMJHL season with the Drummondville Voltigeurs, he recorded 58 points, including 17 goals, in 67 games.
Over the past few seasons, he collected 22 points in 26 games, 28 points in 29 games, and 22 points in 30 games with Moncton U.
Quietly, Dion played 5 games with the Laval Rocket this season.
In those five games, he didn't record any points, took two penalty minutes, and had a minus-2 rating.
The Laval Rocket's defensive group is starting to get stronger again!
Reinbacher is back in action, Joshua Roy and Marc Del Gaizo have returned to Laval (after being reassigned by the Montreal Canadiens in recent hours), and the solid William Trudeau could also rejoin the lineup if he clears waivers today at 2:00 p.m.
A situation to keep an eye on this afternoon!
We wish Dion the best of luck moving forward!
