The captain of the Montreal Canadiens, Nick Suzuki, is absent today for the team's daily practice.

It is worth recalling that the captain blocked a hard shot, in a vulnerable position, at the very end of overtime last night against the Philadelphia Flyers.
That seems to explain this situation.
Apparently following the sequence below:
Now, the Montreal Canadiens have just announced this:
"Forward Nick Suzuki will not participate in today's practice (therapy day)."

It's obviously bad news to learn that he's dealing with some discomfort and is missing practice today, but for the moment, nothing suggests there is reason for serious concern.

Let's hope this doesn't turn out like with Kaiden Guhle and Patrik Laine, where a "treatment day" turns into a prolonged absence - but there is absolutely nothing to indicate that's the case right now.
Still, this will be something to keep an eye on over the next few hours, especially during head coach Martin St-Louis's upcoming press conference.
Nick Suzuki, 26 years old, is a 5-foot-11, 207-pound forward who has recorded an incredible 19 points in 13 games this season, including three goals, after putting up 89 points in 82 games (30 goals) last season.
The trio he forms with Cole Caufield and Juraj Slafkovsky is truly one of the best in the NHL right now, and it's really great to see for Canadiens fans.
More details to follow.
