The excellent Maxime Truman has indeed just shared a small scoop regarding the Montreal Canadiens' new 6-foot forward, Jared Davidson.
We can confirm, thanks to the game sheet, that Davidson will keep the jersey number assigned to him during Habs training camp - which isn't always the case for some players - but yes, Davidson will wear number 49.
We're very eager to see this new face in action, especially considering he has scored 9 goals in 13 games this season with the Laval Rocket (and 24 goals in 60 games last season, also in the AHL).
New line combinations for Martin St. Louis and the Montreal Canadiens
According to various reports, Jared Davidson is the real deal, and it's not impossible that he has played his final game with the Laval Rocket.
He's exactly the type of player who could truly force the Montreal Canadiens' management to keep him "up top" for a good while!
He works hard, he's complete, he can play a tough game, and he scores big goals! All attributes that are likely to appeal to the bosses as well as head coach Martin St. Louis.
He truly represents an incredible story of perseverance and hard work. One thing's for sure: he's defied a lot of expectations to make it to the NHL.
"Undrafted three times, once in the WHL and twice in the NHL, tonight he plays his first game as a Hab."
