Canadiens Announce Important Change Involving Florian Xhekaj Ahead of Game vs Leafs
We have a very interesting change to announce, involving young Montreal Canadiens forward Florian Xhekaj.
This says a lot about their interest in Florian Xhekaj, and it shows that he really does have a chance to start the season in Montreal.. But that's not even all!
Martin St-Louis announces a big change for Florian Xhekaj: he's moving from wing to center!
So here's what it looks like:
"Caufield-Suzuki-Slafkovsky
Laine-Dach-Demidov
Roy-Rohrer-Mesar
Tuch-F.Xhekaj-Davidson
Matheson-Dobson
Guhle-Reinbacher
O'Rourke-Clurman
Montembeault
Fowler"
I'm really looking forward to seeing what Florian can do at center, but it's clear he has the intelligence and discipline needed to make an excellent third- or fourth-line center.
Xhekaj, 21 years old, is a big 6 foot 4 forward and 215 pounds, drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the 4th round of the 2023 draft (101st overall).
He collected 35 points in 69 games last season with the Laval Rocket, including 24 goals.
