Analyst Believes Florian Xhekaj Will Start the Season in Montreal If One Condition Is Met

The excellent Marc-Olivier Beaudoin made an interesting statement about young Florian Xhekaj and the possibility that he could start the season in Montreal.
I believe he summarized the situation very well.
On the condition that Martin St-Louis and Kent Hughes decide based on merit, with everything we've seen since the start of camp, Florian Xhekaj will absolutely begin the regular season in the Canadiens' lineup.
Beaudoin even sees him completing a line with Alex Newhook and Zachary Bolduc.
"If the organization goes based on merit to build its lineup for Game #1, Florian Xhekaj will be there.
Personally, I would give him a try with Zach Bolduc and Alex Newhook.
It costs nothing to try. If it doesn't work, send him to Laval and that's it!"

Indeed, there's absolutely no harm in trying him, and if it doesn't work out, he can simply be sent back down to the Laval Rocket for a while.

Who here wouldn't like to see him in the lineup to start the regular season-especially against the Toronto Maple Leafs?
It would be very useful for the Habs to have Xhekaj in the lineup for that rivalry game against the Leafs.
What's more, the only open spot on the Canadiens right now is on the third or fourth line, which would be perfect for Florian Xhekaj (at least to start).
Xhekaj, 21 years old, is a big forward at 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds. He was a 4th-round pick of the Montreal Canadiens in the 2023 Draft (101st overall).
Last season, he put up 35 points in 69 games with the Laval Rocket, including 24 goals.
