After announcing the postponement of all games between American and Canadian teams until the Christmas break, the NHL and the NHLPA are looking for a solution to resume all these cancelled games.
After all, no less than forty games have been postponed so far. Saving the 2021-22 season is THE top priority right now, and that's why the break that was originally planned to let the players go to the Beijing Winter Olympics could be cut short...
Indeed, Gary Bettman and his associates would consider more and more the option to put a cross on the Olympics in order to resume those lost games during the month of February. However, they would still be at the stage of reflection, and an official decision should be announced in the next few days.
Under the current circumstances, if the NHL wants to keep an 82 game schedule, I don't really see what other solution could be found. Will the National Hockey League players be absent from the Olympics once again? To be continued...
