Tomas Tatar has officially left the Montreal Canadiens organization, signing a two-year pact with the New Jersey Devils today. Recall that the Habs had not extended the stay of the Slovakian with the team. To continue the tradition, Tatar delivered a nice testimony through his Instagram account to say goodbye to the Montreal Canadiens, just like Phillip Danault had done.
Obviously, Tatar enjoyed his stay on Quebec soil.
"I wanted to thank the Montreal Canadiens for the last three years. To all the fans, I felt a support, and this, since day 1. The video where you could hear "Tomas Tataaaar" was magical, I loved it. To my loyal linemates Brendan Gallagher and Phillip Danault; Gally, it was fun to be able to teach you the "7 up and 7 down" card game with the bad deck you were constantly holding. Phil, you were the first teammate I had in the NHL that I had to teach to speak English. It was fun. Thanks for the memories and friendships. New Jersey, I can't wait for it to start!"
Who doesn't remember Dérek Toulouse, Tomas Tatar's biggest supporter? The one who was the author of the famous video where you can hear "Tomas Tataaaar".
This one had a message for his favorite player, following his departure for New Jersey.
It was a short passage of Tomas Tatar in Montreal, but he will have left his mark for a long time.
