Since we learned, on RDS, that Kent Hughes inquired with the Washington Capitals, to potentially acquire goalie Ilya Samsonov, several fans wonder if the Caps would really be ready to trade their goalie of future.

Everything indicates yes.

According to TSN experts, and according to their sources, Samsonov now appears to be on the trading market. The 25-year-old goalie has officially made his way onto the list of players likely to be traded. He has just been added to the Trade bait.

We can therefore conclude that the rumors that Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton are interested, are probably true. Could Samsonov be the Canadiens' Igor Shesterkin? He seems to have that potential.

Remember that the Caps would have a serious interest in Artturi Lehkonen, this will be fun to follow closely.

Aside from Samsonov, some of the cool new additions to TSN's Trade bait include: the Toronto Maple Leafs' first-round pick (17th) and the young Rangers defenseman Nils Lundkvist.

So, there are more and more surprising and interesting elements being added, which sets the stage for a really interesting March in the NHL. It could move. Lundkvist, Toronto's pick and also, Samsonov, could all be of interest to the Habs.
