There was a lot of action yesterday at Place Bell as the Laval Rocket took on the Bridgeport Islanders, the New York Islanders' feeder club. For the occasion, it was Michael McNiven who got the start in front of the net for Jean-François Houle's team.
The Rocket showed character in this exciting game as they came back from behind three times to finally win 5-4 in overtime, thanks to a goal from Laurent Dauphin.
Dauphin had a great game with two assists and the game winning goal. This earned him the third star of the game. Danick Martel was awarded the first star of the game with his two goals. Jesse Ylonen also had a three-point performance with three goals.
The Rocket's record now stands at 6-5-1-0 so far this season. The next game for Jean-François Houle's team is this afternoon at 1:00 pm against the Utica Comets. Hopefully, the players will want to avenge their teammate Cole Caufield following the attacks that were launched against the young Tricolore prospect last Sunday.
