The Montreal Canadiens reportedly pulled off a real home run by acquiring Jacob Fowler, the best goaltender outside the professional ranks
It's been a few times now that we've spoken highly of young goaltender Jacob Fowler, drafted by the Montreal Canadiens last June, but it almost always comes from sources particularly interested in the CH.
But this is much better.
See what none other than Pierre McGuire just declared about the young goaltender.
«I think a lot of good things are happening in Montreal right now. In fact, they may have the best goaltending prospect outside of the professional ranks. It's a young man named Jacob Fowler who plays for Boston College. If you haven't had the chance to see him play, go watch this young man, he's the real deal, an extraordinary prospect.» - Pierre McGuire
Wow, the best! Nothing less!
We're talking here about an expert who has absolutely no interest in promoting a young player from the CH. He is 100% impartial, which lends even more weight to his analysis.
McGuire continues by mentioning that the much-sought solution in goal might already be within the organization.
He firmly believes that Jacob Fowler has a solid future in the NHL.
In any case, it's very exciting to hear this.
Credit and details:
Fowler, 18 years old, drafted 69th overall by the Canadiens in 2023, is very dominant this season in the NCAA. (0.924 save percentage and a record of 7-2-1)
Numbers worthy of Jake Oettinger, Connor Hellebuyck, and Thatcher Demko.
