The Kraken's GM reveals his plan with Shane Wright and it's causing a stir

Since the beginning of the season, Shane Wright's situation with the Seattle Kraken has been the talk of the town. His use was clearly controversial, as he was only in uniform with the Kraken for seven games out of 20 games before being sent to the AHL for reconditioning purposes.

Since his arrival with the club-school, Shane Wright has had success with the Coachella Valley Firebirds. In four games, the former Kingston Frontenacs OHL captain has scored four goals.

The question on everyone's mind right now is what's next for him? Seattle Kraken General Manager Ron Francis answered the question:

"He'll play two more times this weekend...before he's recalled, then our plan is to get him in the lineup here, then we'll make a decision on the World Junior Championship at that point." - Ron Francis

So there would be a real chance of Wright lining up with Team Canada for the World Junior Championship in late December. This is good news for him, as well as for the Canadian program, which will benefit from adding one of the best players of his age to its roster.

After more than two months of not understanding where the Kraken was going with the use of their 18 year old rookie, we finally have more answers on what is next with the fourth overall pick in 2022.

File to follow.
