The Winnipeg Jets will have a "new" third uniform next season, as the organization announced that its navy blue Heritage jersey will be introduced as an alternate uniform (third jersey) for the 2021-22 season.
This jersey will therefore replace the light blue jersey with "JETS" in white, which will have been the team's third jersey for the past three seasons.
Jersey Regulations
Here's what explains the change. Initially, many Jets fans asked that the team wear the Heritage jersey more often. However, the uniforms in this collection were accessible for a single season and could only be worn a maximum of five times.
The third uniforms, on the other hand, must be worn a minimum of three times and there is no restriction on a maximum number of times the team is allowed to wear it. That is why the Winnipeg Jets organization has made the decision to replace their third jersey.
The Heritage blue jersey will be worn for the first time on November 9th against the St. Louis Blues and will be the Jets uniform for a total of 14 games in the 2021-22 season.
