Bruins forward Trent Frederic, a real little pest, said Alex Ovechkin's direct hit on his family jewels last season didn't hurt him. The sequence in question happened during the 2021 schedule, when the 23-year-old, who was playing his first full NHL season, didn't mind shaking the Caps captain repeatedly.

"It sounds weird, but it didn't hurt. No lie. We played them five or six times at that point and he's the better player. Obviously, I'm going to hit him every chance I get. He didn't like that. I think earlier in the game I went to hit him and he went down. He thought I tripped him or something. I thought he was going to drop his gloves or something. I didn't know. So I dropped mine. I thought he was going to go for it," said Frederic.
Here's the sequence in question, which happened on March 3, when the Caps defeated the Bruins 2-1 in a shootout. The game-winning goal came from the pad of Jakub Vrana, now with the Detroit Red Wings.

OKAY! It was a very vicious shot by Alex Ovechkin, who could have just pushed it away instead of doing that on the play. It didn't hurt, according to Frederic, but on the sequence, he seemed to suffer!
