"MONTREAL - Club de field hockey Canadien general manager Kent Hughes announced today that the team has agreed to terms on a two-season entry-level contract with defenseman Jordan Harris (2021-2022 to 2022-2023).
The deal will pay Harris $750,000 in salary per NHL season and includes a $92,500 signing bonus for each year. The contract also contains "A" performance bonuses for the second season that can reach a maximum of $425,000. Harris will earn a salary of $70,000 per season in the AHL.
Harris, 21, helped his team to the Hockey East Conference regular season championship with 20 points (5 goals, 15 assists) in 38 games as captain of the Northeastern University Huskies. He was named the Hockey East Conference's top defensive defenseman and a First Team All-Star.
The Haverhill, Mass. native was playing in his fourth NCAA Division I season, recording 73 points (15 goals, 58 assists) in 129 games in the American college circuit. He also won the ECAC championship with his team in 2019.
Harris was selected in the third round (71st overall) by the Canadiens in the 2018 NHL Draft. The defenseman will wear #54." - Montreal Canadiens
