The Habs aren't done evaluating prospects for the upcoming draft

Last week, Kent Hughes and his hockey men were all in Buffalo to attend the NHL Combine. In addition to seeing how they performed on the various physical tests, they were able to meet most of the young men one-on-one to get a better idea of who they are.

It seems that the organization wants to expand on what they started in Buffalo when, according to what Andrew Zadarnowski reports, two private combines will be held in the coming days.

An announcement is reportedly imminent along those lines.

Two private combines for the CH later this week (Brossard and Stockholm), but not much information will come out about the guests. In the past the CH has seen moderate success with this process. Mattias Norlinder and Otto Leskinen according to rumors. Romanov was not there.

It's not unusual for NHL organizations to hold these kinds of private events. In 2018, Alexander Romanov had in fact participated in the European Combine of the CH in Stockholm. Trevor Timmins had then been able to observe the young Russian defenseman more closely.

To date, Kent Hughes could speak 14 times at the microphone during two days of the upcoming draft. If it is possible that he trades a few of his picks, he will still speak on several occasions. It is therefore normal for the organization to take all possible means to know the prospects of the next draft and, hopefully, avoid as much as possible the bad selections.
