A few weeks ago, the Arizona Coyotes announced that they would be sharing facilities with the Arizona State University Sun Devils for the coming seasons. The NHL team will play in the same 5,000-seat arena as the NCAA team...

This Monday, the university team released its schedule for their 2022-2033 NCAA season, much to the dismay of Coyotes fans...
Looking at the schedule, we can see that the Sun Devils will be the priority team in the arena. The Coyotes will not have any weekend home games during the months of October, January and February... We should also add that the university team will play more home games than ever before, with 24 games being played in Arizona.
It's pretty amazing that a team from a professional league is moving to a 5,000 seat amphitheater, plus add the fact that they won't even have the priority of local games...
The worst part, from an on-ice perspective, is that the Coyotes players will be completely ridiculed by the opposing players. The Yotes players will be playing in front of fewer fans than many Canadian junior teams. Imagine Connor Bedard, who is projected to be drafted first overall in the 2023 draft, currently playing for the WHL's Regina Pats in a 7,000 seat capacity building. Something to regret getting drafted in the NHL...
