We just learned that former Anaheim Ducks and Buffalo Sabres promising defenseman Brendan Guhle (Kaiden's brother) has taken everyone by surprise by announcing his retirement from professional hockey.
Brendan Guhle, who is only 25 years old, ends his career with 14 points in 65 NHL games. He was drafted in the second round in 2015 by the Buffalo Sabres.
In 2017, he was listed as one of his team's top two defensive prospects before being traded to the Ducks with a first round pick for the excellent Brandon Montour (who has 26 points in 31 games this NHL season).
We wish Guhle the best of luck for the future and for his post-career.
"Defenseman Brendan Guhle ends his career early!"

"It was a shock when Brendan informed us of his decision. We were completely caught off guard by it. After surviving his injury, he was an important part of our defense. The coaches, the team and I tried to get him to change his mind again. It will be difficult to replace him. We want to make it clear that Brendan's decision is not related to his summer injury. Of course, we wish him the best for the future," said Stephane Richer, sports director of Eisbaren Berlin.
More details will follow!
