On the On Jase podcast on RDS, Martin Lemay's guest co-host Stephane Leroux took the time to properly pick up Montreal Canadiens forward Mike Hoffman.

"Marc Bergevin who didn't want to give Phillip Danault another $500,000, but will give Mike Hoffman $4M. This is appalling! It's a disgrace, it doesn't make sense. I'm not afraid to say it... This guy last year was on a trial contract with the St. Louis Blues. At the end, he was pretty much not playing anymore, then the Habs go and give him a contract." - Stephane Leroux

In 59 games this season, Hoffman has 28 points, including 11 goals, in his first season with the Habs.

His salary accounts for $4.5 million on the team's payroll through 2023-2024.
