In the last few hours, we have learned that the Edmonton Oilers have agreed on the terms of a two season contract with their forward Kailer Yamamoto.
An important player and an important signing for them.
Under the terms of this new deal, Yamamoto will be paid $3.1 million per season (2 years X $3.1 million/year)
In 81 games last season, Yamamoto, 23, had 20 goals and 41 points. He stands 5-foot-8 and was drafted 22nd overall by the Edmonton Oilers in 2017.
This signing could have an impact on the Montreal Canadiens, because it adds another very interesting comparable for Kirby Dach's next contract.
Don't be surprised if Dach signs, in the next few days, for two seasons and $3.1 million per year.
Yamamoto's contract could really be the same as the one Dach will sign in Montreal, according to the experts.
More details to follow!
