The Pittsburgh Penguins announced that their captain Sidney Crosby will miss six weeks of activities due to surgery on his left wrist. He will miss the start of training camp and likely the first week of the 2021-2022 season.
The Cole Harbour native had been bothered by this injury for a few years. After trying everything to make the injury less of an issue, the Penguins organization and Crosby decided that this was the best move to make.
We tend to forget that "Sid the Kid" is 34 years old. The body starts to get considerably frail as the years go by. It's a sobering thought for poolers.
Remember that Crosby had a total of 62 points, including 24 goals, in 55 games last season with the Penguins.
