After learning about the cancellation of the 2022 World Junior Championship due to COVID-19, the situation is getting worse for Team Russia.
Members of the team were reportedly escorted off a plane leaving Calgary for Frankfurt, Germany, on Friday night, as reported by the local police.
No details or names have been disclosed at this time, but the training head coach reportedly refused to comply with the airline's rules in the minutes preceding the flight, which would have considerably delayed the take-off.
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) would now be in charge of the investigation as reported by CTV in Calgary.
