Dallas Stars manager Jim Nill has confirmed that goaltender Ben Bishop's career is over.
After more than a year of trying to return to the game following major knee surgery, the giant goalie has decided to end his career. He will be placed on the long-term injured list until the end of his contract in 2023.
This decision was made after the 35-year-old goaltender went through eight times on 34 shots with the Texas Stars in the AHL just recently.
Bishop has had a great run in the NHL, including three Vezina Trophy nominations. He played a total of 413 games with the Senators, Blues, Lightning, Kings and Stars.
