In the last few minutes, the Montreal Canadiens organization has released their official roster, with player measurements, for the rookie camp, and there are some interesting things to note.
In particular, two little surprises concerning Juraj Slafkovsky, who is now at (hold on to your hat) 238 pounds! Wow!
Also, he's now down to 6 feet 3 inches, according to the official list, whereas Slafkovsky was previously 6 feet 4 inches on the lists.
Sounds great! See an excellent review by Guillaume Lefrançois of La Presse:
"The Habs sent out a list with updated measurements of their players. Some notes :
- Slafkovsky goes from 6-foot-4, 229 pounds to 6-foot-3, 238 pounds
- Guhle goes from 199 to 205 lbs. At 6'2. He's already got a man's build.
- Speaking of big bones, Xhekaj goes from 219 to 238 lbs.
Also, several players have shrunk an inch in the updated measurements (Mesar and Mysak, among others). [...] The Sabres have two forwards listed at under 160 lbs. I don't know if the measurements are up to date, but if they are, we'd just have to make sure Xhekaj doesn't break them in half in a collision!"
Now that he's down to 238 pounds, if Juraj Slafkovsky hasn't lost speed and quickness, wow! Watch out!
