Our colleague Vincent Fournier, from LetsGoHabs.com, continues his reading of Pierre Gervais' book, which is available in bookstores in Quebec, and he found a very interesting passage.

In his book, the excellent Pierre Gervais agrees to reveal which players he liked the least, with explanations to justify his choices.
First, there is the infamous Janne Niinimaa.
"I would have taken twenty Ribeiro for a Niinimaa, without hesitation! It was almost an animal and everyone said so openly. Niinimaa drank like a fish and had absolutely inappropriate behavior in public." - Pierre Gervais

"One night at a rookie dinner, he was found completely drunk in the hotel lobby with his camera out of his pants, a real no-good." - Pierre Gervais

Ouch! Gervais also names Mike Cammalleri :
"Mike Cammalleri wasn't as out of place in his behaviors, but what a guy full of himself. Fresh and arrogant, like I have rarely seen!" - Pierre Gervais

It's surprising and he was really liked by the fans, but it's further proof that we don't always know what's going on behind the scenes.
And finally, there's this:
"Steve Yzerman and Joe Sakic really impressed me, especially on a human level. Nice guys. They didn't become great general managers by accident. I can't say the same for Chris Pronger, Brendan Shanahan and Owen Nolan. I thought they were haughty, even with their teammates." - Pierre Gervais

This book is good stuff. We highly recommend it.
