MONTREAL -- Prospects headed to the NHL Draft begin that final step on Monday.
The NHL Draft will be held at Buffalo's KeyBank Center and HarborCenter from May 30 to June 4 after being cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to NHL.com, 96 prospects (63 forwards, 30 defensemen and three goaltenders) have been invited to participate in the event, which allows teams to gather valuable information on players' physical and medical evaluations and conduct one-on-one interviews.
Top prospects Shane Wright, Juraj Slafkovsky and Logan Cooley are among the invited players.
Writer Mike G. Morreale explained that seven of the 11 fitness tests will take place at the HarborCenter on the final day of the evaluation session, including standing height measurement, arm span, long jump, bench press, agility test, pull-ups and Wingate Anaerobic Test.
The Canadiens currently have 14 NHL Draft picks, including the first overall pick.
The event will take place July 7-8 at the Bell Centre.
