Mike Cammalleri is co-CEO of BioSteel, and then when that branding was in Montreal for a training camp, the former Canadiens forward took the opportunity to clarify that he's still in love with Montreal. "Cammy" chatted with Stu Cowan and despite a stormy ending with the Blue-White-Red, he talks about the Montreal Canadiens and his eyes brighten up.
Just like that, Cammalleri was traded between periods (for Rene Bourque) after making a statement that didn't sit well with then GM Pierre Gauthier. The little maverick mentioned that he was tired of the organization's loser attitude... OUCH! But he remains a great lover of the Canadiens.
"I have nothing but great memories and feelings for Montreal. It's special to me and I'm very grateful for the time I've had here. We had a really exciting few years here with the playoffs!" -Mike Cammalleri

One of the former number 13's most memorable moments was the birth of the couple's first child, which took place in Montreal:
"I had an intimate relationship with the city, the fans and the team. My wife and I had our first child while I was playing here and one of the things we are doing this week is celebrating because she is 10 years old. I would say I had a romantic and intimate feeling with the city of Montreal and playing here. We love being back and we're going to try to make it a habit." -Mike Cammalleri
Looking back, "Cammy" has a very mature outlook on why the organization traded him for Rene Bourque:
"I know the circumstances of what happened and I know how it can look. But I know what happened and the conversations that took place. Would I have liked to have played here longer? Sure. Could I have stayed here longer? Of course. But that's not what happened and that's fine. It won't change the intimacy and connection I have for the city of Montreal."
Isn't he a very endearing man, this Mike Cammalleri?
