On Wednesday night, Martin St-Louis changed his first trio once again as he wanted to keep Kirby Dach at the center position. To do so, after having tried several unsuccessful experiments this season on the right of Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield, he tried his luck with Joel Armia for the game against Tampa Bay. To the great displeasure of Michel Bergeron...
The former NHL coach did not mince his words during his segment Without a net on TVA Sports and said what he thought with his usual colorful language.
It's like sending a gang of plumbers to a dentist's convention. It doesn't work! It's putting me on blast! We all love him Armia. He's a nice guy. He's a big six foot four inch guy who doesn't hit anybody and has zero goals. Again, he plays with Suzuki."
"I'll tell you, honestly, if it had happened in my day, a fourth-line player with Peter Stastny, Peter wouldn't have finished the shift. He would have gone back to the bench and told me ''I want to talk to you.'' I probably would have told him we could talk in the morning." - Michel Bergeron
Bergeron wasn't done, he then unleashed his venom on the Brendan Gallagher issue. He does not understand why the latter made the trip to Florida ...
"Brendan Gallagher made the trip to Florida. He's been injured for a long time, we didn't even know the nature of the injury. If the Canadiens had a trip to Buffalo and Columbus, would Gallagher be on the trip? With seven feet of snow in Buffalo, to ask the question is to answer it." - Michel Bergeron
