Cole Caufield's first season in the NHL was a two-part affair. First, under Dominique Ducharme, everything was going wrong and the little forward was unable to find the back of the net. We know the rest of the story, but the arrival of Martin St-Louis changed everything for him and he hasn't looked back since.
As with every game, the RDS Antichambre begins and the panelists discuss the Habs' game in the form of columns. On Saturday night, Maxime Talbot's topic was very interesting.
Talbot compared Cole Caufield to none other than Alex Ovechkin. According to the former Pittsburgh Penguins player, just like the Capitals captain, everyone knows that Caufield will shoot from the same spot. Everyone knows that the pass is going to go to him sooner or later, but the Canadiens' number 22 still manages to stand out and score plenty of goals.
Of course, Caufield still has a lot to eat to reach Ovechkin's level of excellence. However, there is a similarity in the way both players score and create angles.
