The Montreal Canadiens are almost fully back in business. Interviews and press briefings will resume the winter rhythm shortly, then it's already started, by the way. This morning, Mr. Rob Ramage, the Director of Player Development for the Montreal Canadiens, offered a press briefing, accompanied by Ms. Geneviève Paquette.
The two members of the Montreal Canadiens organization answered questions about the CH Group's "Respect and Consent" plan. Ramage also answered some "hockey" questions, including one about Mattias Norlinder, who could be on the team this year.
Ramage confirmed two things: Norlinder still has a one-year contract with HC Frolunda, which we already knew, so if he is cut by the Montreal Canadiens, he will immediately return to Sweden to perfect his hockey skills. However, the 21-year-old main goal is to break into Montreal's lineup.
The second thing, Ramage said that Norlinder was a "suspect": "He is a 'suspect' to push for a spot with the Montreal Canadiens". The Red,White, and Blue team is in need of a defenseman to get their offense going again. The Habs defense needs to be more active and that's what Mattias Norlinder could bring.
Obviously, in the next few days, and especially this weekend (games against Ottawa), he will be one of the ones we will be watching closely!
