Marie-Philip Poulin targets the Montreal Canadiens

The captain of the Canadian women's hockey team, Marie-Philip Poulin, is certainly one of the best skaters on the planet.

She won her fourth Olympic gold medal at the last Beijing Games a month ago and there were even rumors that she could have joined the Trois-Rivières Lions in the East Coast League.

But will we ever see the hockey player in the upper echelons of men's field hockey, as is the case with Chantal Machabée with the Canadiens?

If it were up to her, the answer would definitely be yes.

During the first intermission of last Saturday's game between the Senators and the Habs on TVA Sports, she was the guest as the women's hockey team was honoured for its gold medal performance at the Beijing Games.

During the interview, she was asked about the possibility of one day working for the Canadiens.

"That would be another dream for me. Being able to be involved, whether it's on the ice or working with the players, those are things I love. Eventually, when my career is over, I'd be very interested."

But that's not likely to happen tomorrow, as Poulin, who turns 31 in a few days, is expected to be playing hockey for a while longer.
