The Vancouver Canucks are actively looking for a general manager, and Marc Bergevin's name is among the favorites. The organization would be very interested in acquiring the services of the former Montreal Canadiens' boss, who has done a colossal job over the past nine seasons.
"Berg" has been out of work since November 28, when Geoff Molson, after several days of reflection, decided to change direction by dismissing his GM along with Trevor Timmins and Paul Wilson.
Following a 4-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins last Saturday, the Aquilini family (owners of the Canucks) decided to move on and pass the torch. Bruce Boudreau is now the pilot of the club and the management is still looking for its next GM.
I remind you that Stan Smyl is the interim general manager and the Sedin twins are certainly among the candidates for such a role. But now we can add Bergevin to that list, who has shown that he can work magic as a hockey man.
His resume is full and he's very passionate, so he's the logical choice for the Vancouver Canucks, who need a new culture.
