With the trade deadline fast approaching, rumors are flying around the CH. Fans are hoping that Kent Hughes will be able to negotiate most of the players who will become free agents this summer. Of those, Jonathan Drouin is an intriguing name.
Unfortunately injured more often than in recent seasons, he has been unable to find a rhythm with the club that trusted him with a 6-year contract worth $33M in 2017. The latter, who is coming back from an injury, is however experiencing an excellent sequence with a total of 12 points in as many games.
Clearly, Drouin is aware that he can be traded in the next couple of weeks, he expects it and he seems to be ready for it. He controls what he can control and that's a credit to him.
We understand that he wants to continue his career in the NHL, but more importantly, elsewhere than with the CH! It will be interesting to see if Kent Hughes will be able to move him by March 3rd. Could he join his good friend Nathan Mackinnon in Colorado? Only time will tell!
