In the last few minutes, via an article by Charles-Alexis Brisebois and information revealed by veteran journalist Yvon Pedneault, we learned that the Montreal Canadiens and the Los Angeles Kings would have seriously discussed a trade involving defenseman Joel Edmundson.
According to Pedneault, a trade involving Edmundson has not yet materialized, simply because general manager Kent Hughes is asking for too much at this time.
Their general manager would then have realized that the Habs are asking a lot for Edmundson, which makes sense if you believe the Ben Chiarot (2022) and David Savard (2021) trades that were concluded in the last few years at the deadline.
If you ask us, we believe that differential is not a determinant of a player's market value, but hey.
In any case, let's note that Edmundson is exactly what the Kings really need, they are willing to pay a lot of money to improve in the short term, and that's why trade talks would be started between Kent Hughes and Rob Blake (L.A.)
