In a press conference in the last few seconds live from the Bell Centre, the Commissioner of the National Hockey League, Gary Bettman, made a big statement about young Logan Mailloux.

When asked if Mailloux would get the green light from the NHL to play in the relatively near future, Bettman said that the league would have to seriously and thoroughly look into the matter.

NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman on Habs Logan Mailloux: "we haven't dealt with that issue because we haven't been asked to... we'll have to evaluate his situation if & when the Canadiens decide to bring him up to the NHL level"

Basically, he didn't close the door, but he also didn't confirm that Mailloux would be able to play in the National Hockey League when he wanted to.

Bettman also touched on many other topics, and we'll get back to you with the details.

Mailloux, 6-foot-3 and 217 pounds, was drafted 31st overall by the CH in 2021. He has 13 goals and 31 points in 33 games in the OHL this season.

More details to follow.
