Morgan Rielly (27 years old) just signed a monster 8-year deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Here is the contract breakdown for the Leafs' number one brigadier, who also has a no-movement clause. Rielly will also receive signing bonuses for the first two years of his new deal, which begins next season.
A very interesting structure for the one who will pocket an average of 7.5 million dollars per year, while many of his young counterparts have signed lucrative contracts of 9 million dollars and more throughout the NHL. Charlie McAvoy and Cale Makar are two of those!
My assumption for this salary to fit on the payroll: Mitch Marner will be traded during next summer... or before that. I remind you that the new agreement of the one who got 309 points in 580 games will start in the 2022-23 season.
