If it wasn't for Jake Allen last night, the Montreal Canadiens wouldn't have left the arena with their first win in San Jose since 1999. Number 34 turned aside no less than 45 pucks to earn his first shutout of the season.
By not allowing a goal, he became the second goaltender in CH history with the most saves in a shutout. He is just behind the legendary Jacques Plante, who made 52 saves against the Blackhawks in 1955.
The Habs' goalie has some great company by his side. He has a lot to be proud of! The Montreal team can consider itself lucky to be able to count on his services. Allen has and will have a lot of work to do between now and the end of the first part of this 82-game schedule since everything indicates that Carey Price will not be back before 2022...
Does Marc Bergevin have to find a backup to help Jake Allen who could be running out of steam?
