According to information leaked by Kevin Weekes, the Florida Panthers will have a new head coach soon. With Joel Quenneville facing serious charges in the Kyle Beach matter, the Panthers would apparently like to move on to another call.
John Tortorella is reportedly the leading candidate for the head coaching job in Florida, according to Weekes. Recall that "Torts" has been an analyst with ESPN since the start of the 2021-2022 season.
The Panthers were off to a hot start this year, hence their 7-0-0 record. They were sitting in first place overall in the NHL.
It's pretty peculiar to fire your head coach after such a great start, but considering the accusations against Quenneville, it becomes VERY legitimate.
