But as we know, sometimes a surplus of forwards is not very good for a team and it would not be surprising if Kent Hughes had to sacrifice one of them before the opening of training camp.
As reported by Marco Normandin of Habsolumentfan.com, the Habs GM has made no secret of the fact that he's looking to improve the right side of the defense, and he may very well use one of his forwards to do so.
By the way, tipster Jimmy Murphy of Montreal Hockey Now has identified three Habs players who would be on the trade market right now: Christian Dvorak, Joel Armia and Mike Hoffman.
However, as we mentioned to you recently, Dvorak's value would not be very high right now and unless the Habs are involved in a major trade, they would not get much in return for #28 (unfortunately).
As for the current value of Armia and Hoffman, we are in the unknown for now, but it is a safe bet that these two players are not worth much more than Dvorak, probably even less.
Will Kent Hughes be able to get what he wants in return for any of these three forwards?
It's hard to say, but with what he's accomplished since becoming the Habs' general manager, it wouldn't be surprising if he could pull a rabbit out of his hat once again and spring a surprise on us by the time training camp opens.
One thing is for sure, don't be surprised if a forward is traded to the Habs soon.
