At a press conference in the last few minutes, Montreal Canadiens GM Kent Hughes reflected on a very eventful day. He talked about a trade that came very close to being completed.
On top of that, Kent Hughes admitted that he received a lot of interesting calls today for the trade deadline, concerning several players who are still with the organization.
We understand that many CH players have been in the discussions and many players could have been traded today by Montreal. We can think of players like Mike Hoffman,
Joel Armia,
Jonathan Drouin, but also obviously,
Jeff Petry.
Hughes confirmed that he had serious discussions about a trade involving Jeff Petry. The GM even went so far as to talk to Petry and tell him that he was trying to trade him.
In the end, all this is put on ice until this summer.
