With the much talked about 2022 NHL Draft getting closer and closer, Jeff Gorton and the Montreal Canadiens organization are about to make a major announcement, at least according to Arthur Staple (The Athletic).

In his most recent article, Staple states that a rumor (which has been circulating for several weeks with the CH) is about to come to fruition and be announced.

"The Montreal Canadiens are reportedly close to hiring Daniel Doré, a former scout with the New York Rangers who is still very close to Jeff Gorton."

After Nick Bobrov, former European scout with the Rangers, Gorton would thus be on the verge of repatriating another of his former colleagues, in the person of Daniel Doré.

Does the name ring a bell? Some had suggested him as a possible candidate to become the Tricolore's GM, before the hiring of Kent Hughes.

As Keven Mawn reports, Doré and Gorton have known each other for a very long time, having worked together in Boston and New York.

More details to follow!
