During this break from December 22 to 26, it will be the perfect time for Jeff Gorton to spend some quality time with his head coach, Dominique Ducharme. The two men have been talking, but probably not in depth.
As Dany Dubé stated on 98.5 Sports, the two individuals need to analyze every players in depth. If Dom Ducharme is still Gorton's man, Gorton needs to know who Ducharme prefers in order to paint the best possible picture.
Here is Dubé's dialogue about his suggestion:
"The first thing it gives you is time to redo your plan. Jeff Gorton hasn't really had time to spend quality time with the coach. Now he has time. If he wants to, he can sit down with and watch the players, one by one, evaluate, do the work... Because right now, the coach has time.
He can ask all the questions he wants, that come to his mind about the players that are under contract, the big contracts, the young ones... The players he likes. Why? The players that disappoint him? Why? What's his interpretation of things..."
It's simple, now that the lockdown is in motion, the Montreal Canadiens will have to come in with a plan and follow it to the letter.
