This summer, Marc Bergevin hired a player who has gone under the radar of everyone in terms of importance. His name is Jean-Sébastien Dea, a little guy from Laval, to be precise.
His first goal was to break into the Montreal Canadiens lineup, an event that will have to be postponed for the Quebecer. However, his contribution to the organization is no less important.
The 27-year-old currently plays a crucial role in Jean-François Houle's Laval Rocket lineup. In the absence of Ryan Poehling, Dea has been delegated as the Rocket's first center, with two of the organization's young wolves, Rafaël Harvey-Pinard and Jesse Ylonen, playing alongside him.
Dea, an established AHL veteran with 382 career games and 241 points, will be a big help to the organization's prospects. The Laval native has a lot of experience, which is why this morning he gave some advice to his young teammates.
Even the captain Xavier Ouellet seemed to be listening. Do we have a player with captaincy skills on the Rocket team by any chance? If Ouellet were to leave, I'm not too concerned about who would take over.
