Unless the Habs GM is able to get at least a first round pick, or an offer he can't refuse, which I invite you to consult the excellent article of my colleague Mathieu Charbonneau on this subject.
That being said, number 17 has the perfect profile for a team that wants to build depth on offense for the playoffs, but he is also an important asset for a rebuilding team, like the Habs right now. He is 29 years old and still has some great hockey in him.
However, many are wondering if Kent Hughes should trade Anderson while he still has value and as reported by Felix Forget of Danslescoulisses.com, one player in particular could change the mind of the Habs GM in this matter.
During a column on TSN 690, reputable tipster Darren Dreger suggested that the Calgary Flames, a team very interested in Josh Anderson's services, should include Quebec forward Jakob Pelletier in a potential trade between the two organizations.
This is not the first time that Pelletier's name has been linked to the Habs, as this time last year, another TSN tipster, Craig Button, said that he would not have been surprised if Pelletier had landed in Montreal.
According to Dregger, an offer based on Jakob Pelletier and a first round pick would be an excellent starting point to get Kent Hughes to part with Anderson.
The idea is very good on paper but in reality, I have the impression that the Habs will have to give a little more to get the services of the Quebec forward.
But could we see an overbidding in the Josh Anderson file?
Last I heard, the Edmonton Oilers and the New Jersey Devils have shown interest in the Habs' forward and right now, he is probably the team's most valuable player on the market.
What do you think?
