Despite criticism from many, forward Mike Hoffman remains in the Montreal Canadiens lineup.
He scored a nice goal yesterday, but once again, he made some absolutely incomprehensible, even embarrassing, plays.
As my colleague Keven Mawn reports, yesterday, on a zone entry from his left side, a teammate was ready to receive the puck for a potentially dangerous on-side shot.
Hoffman himself was in a position to create a very nice scoring chance, at an important time in the game.
Finally, instead of using his good shot, or instead of making a nice pass to his perfectly positioned teammate, Mike Hoffman made a pass to absolutely nobody.
The play was completely wasted, and watching it again, you really wonder what Hoffman was trying to do there.
His teammate even stayed in the air for a few seconds with his stick, and it really looked like he was expecting the puck.
