With his recent performances quite impressive, Canadians forward Artturi Lehkonen continues to be heavily involved in trade rumours.
A question that is currently generating a lot of reactions: «What are we doing with Artturi Lehkonen?"
If it was your decision, do you keep him or trade him?
As part of his traditional column on 98.5 FM on the Mario Langlois show on Thursday evening, former Lightning and Senators head coach Guy Boucher specifically discussed the Artturi Lehkonen case.
Here is what he had to say :
«If you only have a first-round pick in return, you don't trade him. You only have 40% of first-round picks that become National League players." -Guy Boucher
Interesting! It is true that many fans and observers wonder why we would trade a player like that at his peak.
I agree with Boucher on the other hand, at the right price, it can be worth it, precisely because, considering his level of play, he will ask for a rather imposing contract this summer, when he will be a restricted free agent.
In the case of Boucher, it is quite clear. He would potentially like to receive at least one impact player, who can be in a top 4 (defenders) or top 6 (forwards), in exchange. So a solid quality prospect or a good youngster with great potential. There is always a way to include one more pick, but as a tangible target, we can think of players like Max Comtois, Filip Zadina, Owen Tippett, Nils Lundkvist, Rasmus Sandin, and so on.
Do you agree with the idea?
