Four names identified for a Kirby-Dach-style trade, including one surprise
As we mentioned recently, Montreal Canadiens General Manager Kent Hughes has admitted that he is absolutely ready to complete a new trade similar to the Kirby Dach deal.
This means that he is clearly willing to trade his 2023 first-round pick from the Florida Panthers for a more established player.
Knowing this, the excellent observer Marc-Olivier Beaudoin started the following exercise, and we find it very interesting:
"Kent Hughes has mentioned on several occasions the possibility of trading the Panthers' 1st round pick to acquire a young player (a deal like the Kirby Dach trade).
Aside from Pierre-Luc Dubois, what would be a realistic name to acquire? I'm all ears!"

And among the responses, four names really stood out:
"The names that come up most often are Pierre-Luc Dubois (obviously), Alexis Lafrenière, Carter Hart, and Yaroslav Askarov. And I'm 100% in agreement with these names!"
It's surprising to see Lafrenière's name here, but fans still seem to believe in him.
In your opinion, if the Canadiens do trade their second 2023 first-round pick, the one from the Panthers, for a younger but more established player (like Kirby Dach), who would you target?
