We just learned that the Buffalo Sabres made the decision today to draft former Calgary Flames first round pick, 21st overall, Mark Jankowski.
Jankowksi, 27, had 5 points in 19 games this season in Buffalo, but was productive in the AHL. (12 points in 13 games) He played with the Pittsburgh Penguins last season and had 11 points in 45 games.
In his career, he has 80 points (42 goals) in 272 games.
The 31 other NHL teams can acquire him for free until 2:00 pm tomorrow. If he is ignored, he will have to return to the AHL.
More details to come...
